Why use a professional copywriter?

Everyone can write copy. Not everyone can write copy that has the power to attract new customers, increase sales and change opinions about your business for the better. Use a professional copywriter and you’ll be handing it over to someone who considers carefully how every word, sentence and paragraph fits together to elicit just the right response. Meanwhile, you’re free to concentrate on other aspects of your job.

What kind of copywriter are you?

What I do is given lots of different labels – creative copywriter, business writer, commercial copywriter, marketing copywriter. In a nutshell, that means I write copy for businesses and organisations that persuades, sells, informs and entertains. Sometimes I write for business to business communications, sometimes I write copy aimed at the end consumer.

Do you know about my sector?

I’ve written for so many different companies I’ve collated a random spread of knowledge, so I may well do. However, it really doesn’t matter that I don’t know about keyhole surgery, caravan trends or anything else that you may want some copy written about. What matters is that I can research and understand the relevant information (however complex or specialised) quickly, and then write about it clearly and knowledgeably. Having no prior knowledge can be a good thing. It means viewing something from an entirely fresh perspective, which can mean writing about it in a fresh way.

How much will it cost?

The cost depends on each individual job. Once I have an idea of what you need, I'll give you a quote.

Do we need to meet?

No, not necessarily. Many of my clients have become good friends who I see regularly, but I’ve never met or even spoken to some of my clients (that’s not to say we’re not friendly though!). I work with companies throughout the UK, Europe and the Middle East and we communicate by telephone, email, Skype and even fax or post occasionally.

Do I need to give you a formal brief?

No – if you have one that’s great, but it’s not at all essential. It doesn’t matter how vague you are about what you want, it’s my job to ask the right questions to get all the information that I need to write the copy that you need.

What about....?

If you’ve got questions that I’ve not answered here, or you’d like to find out more about how I work and how I could help you, please do get in touch.
